Enjoy your new pet, and take good care of him or her and they will always be there for you. Cat care is the most important part of keeping your cat healthy and happy. The stronger your cat’s health and the better your cat’s attitude is, the more you will be able to enjoy your cat’s unique personality and the more pleasure you will take from the relationship.

Good cat care will make your cat more affectionate, and can dramatically reduce any behavior problems that he or she may be displaying. If you want a richer and fuller relationship with your cat, then take the time to care for your cat properly.

How to keep your cat happy when you're away, toys and playtime, bringing a new animal into your home, feline depression, and more.
Each cat is different, but they all do seem to have an “internal clock.” This tells them, for instance, to wake you up at the same time each day; when dinnertime rolls around; or to wait at the door just before the school bus arrives.
Cat and Water
Cats do not fear water all the time. Water preference varies between individuals, and when water encounters are on the cat’s terms, many kitties enjoy dabbling a paw in the water bowl or fish tank. And with patience, some cats can be trained to accept bathing, after all, show kitties are bathed all the time. In fact, one gorgeous breed called the Turkish Van, or the "Turkish Swimming Cat" loves water so much they may join you in the bathtub!
Emotional and Psychological Problems
cats and dogs do suffer from emotional and psychological problems. Depression, obsessive/compulsive behaviors, and stress disorders are common. Symptoms may include: excessive clawing or urine spraying; hiding; excessive vocalizations; over-grooming, licking, self-mutilation; repetitive behaviors (i.e., tail-chasing, fascination with a ball/toy, etc.). These are conditions that require diagnosis by a qualified veterinary behaviorist. Behavior modification, training, and sometimes drug therapy usually in combination with behavior modification, may be helpful. Drugs alone rarely prove helpful—and even when used, it typically takes many days or even weeks for the drug to show a positive effect.
Old Cat
Every cat is an individual. Some aging cats very much enjoy the company of other cats, particularly if they’ve shared their lives with other pets. But some old cats become kitty curmudgeons and may dislike being aggravated by the attentions of other cats. If the cat has never been around other pets, chances are the older cat will be happier remaining an “only” kitty with all the human attention for himself!
Clawing the Furniture, Carpets, and Curtains
It is a natural behavior for cats to sharpen their claws by scratching on different textured surfaces. The trick is to provide your cat with a suitable place to do it, such as a scratching post, or a piece of carpet nailed to a board. This is most effective if you place multiple scratching posts throughout the house in areas that your cat frequents. Introduce your kitty to the new scratching areas and encourage her to use them instead of your furniture. Keep a spray bottle filled with water handy and give her a quick squirt each time she scratches in an inappropriate area. She will soon learn which areas are acceptable for scratching and which are not.
Cat get Into The Garbage
Cats love little holes. It’s so much fun to poke their paws inside and see what they can fish out! And with a garbage disposal in the sink, there are a couple of other attractions built in--the faucet with dripping water (what fun!), and the smell of food-leftovers. De-scent the garbage disposal. Baking soda helps neutralize odors, but I really love to take the rind of a lemon or orange, and run it through the disposal. That leaves a wonderful citrus odor that people love, but that’s off-putting to cats.
